Ojimgbo
Owerri
Girls' Secondary School a.k.a Ojimgbo girls was founded in 1954 with late
Mother Labore as it's first principal. O.G.S.S in order to pay homage to it's first Mother, named the school hall
after Mother Labore, which as most of you know is The Labore Hall. The
school motto prior to 1999
was "SEDES APIENTIE" (Seat Of Wisdom)
In 1999, Chief Mrs. Theresa O. Okonkwo known to most as "mother" changed the
motto from "SEDES APIENTIE" (Seat of Wisdom) to "LABORARE EST ORARE" (To
Work is to Pray). Mrs. Okonkwo has been the principal since 1981 and is still
the current
principal and we wouldn't have it any other way. By her side are Mrs. S.L
Onyearugbulam and Mrs. Uche her ever so dedicated vices. This information
stands as of June 2002, and will be updated as needed.
